ESM2019 and ESM2020 are being organized. They will take place in Brno, Czech Republic, and Saarbrücken, Germany, respectively. ESM will make a break in 2021, as the IEEE Summer School of the Magnetics Society will be organized in Europe. We are launching a call to organize and host ESM in 2022 and beyond.

Request for participation to the European School on Magnetism 2019 was closed on April 15th. We received 128 applications from 23 countries. Applicants will be notified about results by May 15th, 2019.

The European Magnetism Association and the IEEE Magnetics Society signed a Memorandum of Understanding, to encourage the exchange and dissemination of technical information, and to promote understanding and cooperation between the members of the two societies.

Dominique Givord passed away early this February. He has been a key person in establishing the European community of Magnetism, including the European School on Magnetism, the Joint European Magnetic Symposia and the European Magnetism Association, through which you are receiving this news. Hereby, we would like to draw a short tribute to him.
