New magnetic materials and their functions was the 2007 edition Summer School part of the Series of the European School on Magnetism. It has taken place September 9-18th 2007 in Cluj-Napoca (Romania).

The development of magnetism in the last years is greatly correlated to the discovery of new magnetic materials exhibiting enhanced properties thus opening new areas of applications. Within this approach, a large overview of the present subjects of study of magnetic materials was given to the students. The school was addressed mainly to PhD students and post-docs. It has consisted of 25 lectures and several open question sessions, presented over a period of 10 days, by scientists who are directly active in today's research. Download first call leaflet.

The School has gathered 130 participants, among which 30 lectures/organizers and 100 attendies. These were originating from laboratories located in 16 different countries in Europe. 26 nationalities were represented over four continents.
