EMA is proud to have two distinguished IEEE Magnetics Society lecturers in its community!

The IEEE Magnetics Society is pleased to introduce its three new Distinguished Lecturers for the 2027–2028 term:

  • Lucia Gutiérrez Marrued — Instituto de Nanociencia y Materiales de Aragón, Spain
Beyond Heat: Exploring the Intracellular Response to Magnetic Hyperthermia

  • Joo-Von Kim — Université Paris-Saclay, France
    Floquet Magnonics: A Time Odysse

  • Yukiko K. Takahashi — National Institute for Materials Science, Japan
Magnetic Materials at the Nanoscale: Powering the Information and Energy Revolutions

About the Distinguished Lecturer Program:

The IEEE Magnetics Society Distinguished Lecturer Program supports six active Distinguished Lecturers at all times. Each year, three DLs are selected from nominations submitted by the membership and serve a two-year term.

During their term, DLs travel worldwide to deliver at least 20 lectures per year, invited by IEEE Magnetics Society local Chapters, academic institutions, and other research organisations.

The program celebrates outstanding achievements in magnetics while bringing high-profile speakers directly to the community. It aims to promote the importance of magnetics research and its applications, strengthen Chapter activities, and inspire the next generation of researchers entering the field.

Interested in hosting a Distinguished Lecturer? If you can organise and host a DL, either in person or virtually, please contact the lecturers directly.
