In this July 2026 editorial, Diana LEITAO, the EMA Officer for Industrial Relations, presents the work done at EMA to foster Industrial Relations.
Dear colleagues,
Over the past year, the EMA Industrial Relations Team has been working to establish a Memorandum of Understanding with the UK Magnetics Society. We aim to expand opportunities for members and collaborate in event organization. We are also looking forward to developing joint activities, especially with new industry partners, which will help sustain the Industry in the Spotlight initiative within the EMA plenary e-lectures, led by the Digital Networking Officer.
Although activity has been a bit quieter over the past year, we are keen to pick up the pace with the community’s support. If you have speaker nominations or suggestions, or if you are working on a project that would be a great fit to showcase, feel free to contact us at industry@magnetism.eu.
Looking ahead, we are excited for JEMS 2027, taking place from 29 August to 3 September in Prague, Czech Republic, where we can meet again and continue the industry–academia dialogue built from previous editions of the conference.
