Dennis Meier is the new president, and Susana Cardoso de Freitas is the new vice-president
At its annual meeting held during JEMS 2025 in Darmstadt, Germany, the General Council of the European Magnetism Association (EMA) elected the new leadership team. In accordance with the association’s statutes, the mandate of outgoing President Olivier Fruchart (France) concluded with the 2025 edition of JEMS, marking the end of his three-year term of dedicated service to the magnetism community.
Dennis Meier (Germany), who previously served as Vice-President, was elected to succeed Olivier Fruchart as EMA President for the next three years. Supporting him in this role will be Susana Cardoso de Freitas (Portugal), newly elected as Vice-President.
Looking ahead to the fall, the new presidents will engage with EMA’s officers and initiate a community-wide poll to gather input and feedback to assess the status of ongoing EMA initiatives and develop a joint EMA strategy for the next three years.
