2025 CNRS Silver Medal awarded to Manuel BIBES.

The French CNRS silver medal honours researchers for the originality, quality and importance of a body of work that is recognised nationally and internationally. In 2025, the CNRS has awarded 24 silver medals. This medal is an important form of recognition for the men and women who make science progress.

On June 16, 2025, the French scientific centre, CNRS, announced the winners of its prestigious medals. This year, Manuel Bibes, CNRS Research Director at the Albert Fert Laboratory and co-founder of the start-up Nellow, was recognised for his work on the physics of functional and multifunctional oxides. His research, combining mastery of fundamental concepts with the exploration of disruptive devices, is opening new avenues toward more energy-efficient electronics and spintronics.
