In this editorial, Jeffrey McCord, officer for awards, discloses the result of the EMA Young Scientist Award 2025.

Dear Colleagues and Friends of the European Magnetism Association,

The European Magnetism Association is pleased to announce that the EMA Young Scientist Award 2025 has been awarded to Johanna Fischer in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the field of magnetism, ranging from multiferroics to magnetic skyrmions and their application as sensors. She has demonstrated a clear vision for advancing topological spin textures towards real-world applications.

Johanna Fischer is a researcher at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) at SPINTEC in Grenoble, France. She obtained her PhD in 2020 from the L'Unité Mixte de Physique CNRS-Thales, now Laboratoire Albert Fert, in Paris, France.

We warmly congratulate Dr Johanna Fischer on this well-deserved recognition and thank the community for the many excellent nominations received.
Johanna Fischer and the 2024 EMA Young Scientist Awardee, Alvaro Martín Gallo Cordova, will be honoured at JEMS 2025 in Frankfurt, during the EMA special session.
