PhD student position in Experimental Nanomagnetism

CIC nanoGUNE is currently looking for a Pre-doctoral Researcher for a fully funded 4-year Ph.D. student project to work on magneto-optical characterization and control of magnetism in advanced materials. We are seeking to recruit a talented, enthusiastic young experimental scientist who is highly motivated to boost his/her research career in the area of nanoscience to join a team that is conducting world-class basic and applied research in the field of magnetism and optics of nano-scale structures. The Pre-doctoral Researcher will conduct work on the synthesis of novel metamaterials combining advanced ferromagnetic materials and noble metal nanostructures, their precise characterization with state-of-the-art instruments to measure their spatio-temporal functional properties at the nanoscale and down to the sub-ps timescale. To apply for this position, candidates must hold an internationally recognized Master-equivalent degree in physics, nanoscience, or engineering. No citizenship restrictions apply and required visa processes will be supported. A Ph.D. degree from the local University (UPV/EHU) will be granted after successful completion of the Ph.D. research.
