Description of the offer :

Postdoc position @ Laboratory of Physics, Vinca Institute of Nuclear Sciences - National Institute of the Republic of Serbia, University of Belgrade

The Post-Doc will take charge of the wet-chemical laboratory work, specifically focusing on the reproducible synthesis of magnetic spinel ferrites and core–shell nanostructures for research in Nanomagnetism and Magnetic Nanomaterials. The core of this role involves the fine-tuning of reaction parameters (using solvothermal, thermal decomposition methods and other methods) to achieve a fine control over particle size and morphology. Beyond synthesis, the researcher will be responsible for the surface engineering of these materials, applying bio-compatible coatings such as silica or calcium phosphate to ensure stability in physiological environments. A significant part of the work will involve the operation of the institute’s characterization infrastructure. The Post-Doc will take part in the general physicochemical and advanced magnetic characterisation under co-supervision of project leader and expert. Moreover, the position entails setting up and running the newly acquired magnetic hyperthermia-based system, chemical synthesis of nanoparticles and their surface analysis by TPD measurements. The performed work will be part of the efforts within the European ERMES project (Information Transfer Between Medical Doctors and Implanted Medical Devices via Artificial Molecular Communication, https://ermes-project.eu).
