Spin and orbital transport on ultrafast timescales

This PhD project focuses on the theoretical calculation of spin and orbital transport phenomena in quasi two-dimensional materials, induced by short electric fields. Methods to be used are effective and tight-binding models, linear and nonlinear transport theories (kinetic Boltzmann theory, time evolution of the density matrix). The project is part of the Collaborative Research Center/Transregio „Ultrafast Spin Dynamics“ (TRR 227).
