The Low Temperature and Magnetometry Service is part of the ICMAB Scientific Technical Services Unit and its facilities are available to all the research crew of the Institute, as well as, to external users. It is devoted to the measurement of the magnetic, electric properties under specific conditions of external magnetic field and temperature.

Our expertise are in magnetic and electronic transport characterization of materials from bulk materials and powders (including magnetic nanoparticles) to thin films and heterostructures. Research activities are mainly devoted to the growth, characterization of magnetic materials, micro and nanomagnetism, spintronics and superconductivity.

Equipment :

  • 2X Quantum Design MPMS XL-7T
  • 1 PPMS VSM (with high temperature option)
  • 1 PPMS AC susceptometer
  • 1 PPMS (resistance, Hall effect, FMR)
