The EMA Young Scientist Award 2024 goes to Alvaro Martín Gallo Cordova
The call for 2024 concerned only the Young Scientist Award. The nominations have been reviewed by a committee chosen among the General Council of EMA and chaired by Christian Back, the Officer for honors and awards.
The EMA Young Scientist Award 2024
The EMA Young Scientist Award 2024 goes to Alvaro Martín Gallo Cordova for his contributions aimed at bridging the gap between fundamental magnetism and impactful industrial applications collaborating with private and public entities. He has focused on elucidating the formation pathway of multicore magnetic nanostructures with impressive heating capabilities and subsequently applied them in magnetically induced sustainable reactions – areas relatively unexplored until now.
Alvaro Martín Gallo Cordova currently holds a postdoctoral researcher position at the Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Madrid, Spain. He received his PhD in 2022 from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain for his work on “Magnetic Nanoreactors”. Subsequently, he joined the Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales.
His research now focuses on Materials for Medicine and Biotechnology.
