The list of ERC starting grants 2019 has been disclosed. Those of interest for the magnetism community are listed here.

408 early-career researchers have been awarded European Research Council grants in this year’s first completed ERC call for proposals, see the press release of the PDF list of grantees. Those of interest for the magnetism community are:

  • Daniel Ahmed, Zürich (CH): Acousto-Magnetic Micro/Nanorobots for Biomedical Applications
  • Rostislav Mikhaylovskiy, Regensburg (DE): Shaken and stirred: Terahertz electric field control of magnetism
  • Maria Moros (SP): Remote control of cellular signalling triggered by magnetic switching
  • Juha Muhonen, Jyväskylä (FI): Optomechanical quantum bus for spins in silicon
  • Paavo Rasilo, Tampere (FI): Multiscale Magnetic Models for Emerging Energy Conversion Applications
  • Rebeca Ribeiro Palau (FR): Probing topological valley currents by angular layer alignment in van der Waals heterostructures
  • Stephan Rudykh, Trento (IT): Architectured Soft Magnetoactive Materials: Beyond Instabilities
  • Cristóbal Bertoglio, Groningen (NL): High-fidelity Cardiovascular Modeling from Super-Fast Magnetic Resonance Imaging
  • Lennart De Groot, Utrecht (NL): Paleomagnetism and rockmagnetism by MicroMagnetic Tomography
