The proceedings for JEMS2018, held in Mainz, appeared in J. Magn. Magn. Mater. volume 493 Suppl.C, labeled Jan.2020.
This special issue contains papers presented at the 9th Joint European Magnetic Symposia (JEMS) Conference (https://jems2018.org) held from the 3rd to the 7th of September 2018 in Mainz. The Conference was organized by the Institute of Physics of the University of Mainz (General Chair: Prof. Jairo Sinova; Co-Chair: Prof. Mathias Kläui) .
JEMS 2018 covered a wide breadth of cutting-edge topics across the entire field of magnetism, magnetic materials and their applications, such as electronic correlations, micromagnetic modeling, spin transport in topological materials, antiferromagnetic spintronics, spintronics in molecular and organic based systems, spin caloritronics, spins for quantum technologies, ultrafast magnetization dynamics, spin waves and magnonics, chiral magnetism and skyrmions, nanostructured and low dimensional materials, multiferroic and multifunctional magnetic materials, biomagnetism and medical applications, materials for enrergy, memories and sensors applications
The Conference program incorporated 17 plenary/semi-plenary talks and 38 invited talks from internationally renowned speakers on the latest advances in magnetism, 404 contributed talks and 495 posters. The Conference, characterized by stimulating questions and exciting discussions, was attended by 966 scientists from 23 countries.
