The Joint European Magnetic Symposia took place 26-30 Aug 2019 in Uppsala, Sweden. JEMS remain highly attractive, with close to 750 participants.

The Joint European Magnetic Symposia is the largest conference on Magnetism in Europe. It is held every year, except when a worldwide magnetism conference is held in Europe (Intermag, ICM). A specificity of JEMS is the limited number of parallel sessions (four this year), allowing to keep a good critical mass in each of them, key for active interaction between lecturer and the audience. Poster presentations are gathered in fully-independant sessions, not in parallel to oral sessions, warrantying their high visibility. All this is complemented with plenary and semi-plenary talks, and dedicated dessions.

JEMS2019 boasts close to 750 participants, coming from 46 countries, and more than 850 abstracts submitted. Several special sessions have been held this year: Gender and Science, Forward-looking, and a Dominique Givord Memorial Session.

Save the date for the next JEMS, to be held 27-31 July 2020!
