Description of the offer :

We offer a 4-year PhD position at the IPCMS in Strasbourg. The PhD is part of the Eucor program (conditions and terms similar to a Marie-Curie fellowship): https://www.eucor-uni.org/en/qustec/

The topic focuses on single-spin detection using STM (see attached file) and can be found in the section "Quantum nanodevices" in the above website.

There will be an overlap with other research institutions in the vicinity of Strasbourg: University Of Basel, KIT, University of Freiburg and IBM Zurich. Several workshops and courses will take place during the PhD, giving to the student the opportunity to get in touch with these institutions. There will also be the opportunity of staying up to 6 month in another lab/industry.

The PhD salary (EU Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action) is 2800 eur/month with extra allowances for mobility and family (500 eur each).

The application deadline is for the 19th of August 2019. The applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in France for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the call deadline.
