Description of the offer :

In this PhD we will investigate both theoretically and experimentally the effects of hydrogen insertion in a novel family of Fe-based intermetallic compounds such as LaFeSiH that exhibits both superconductivity and (antiferro)magnetic ordering.

The experimental part will consist in the synthesis of hydrides and their characterization at the ICMCB laboratory. The theory part, performed at LOMA laboratory, will consist in the description of the hydrogen insertion by using phenomenological non-interacting models emerging from standard Kondo-like Hamiltonians on periodic lattices.

We are looking for a very motivated student, with a Master in Physics or in Chemistry, a solid background in condensed-matter, and interests in theoretical modeling, experimental synthesis and characterization.
