Description of the offer :

For the Bulk-µSR Facility Group, which is part of the Laboratory for Muon Spin Spectroscopy (http://www.psi.ch/lmu) - a division of the Research Department Research with Neutrons and Muons @ PSI (Villigen, Switzerland), we are looking for an Instrument Scientist (Tenure Track Position).

Your tasks

  • Lead your own µSR research program and collaborate in research projects with external and/or internal µSR users
  • As an Instrument Scientist, you give scientific and technical support to the users of the PSI bulk µSR facility
  • Participate to the development of new, cutting-edge experimental techniques and to the upgrade of existing µSR facility instruments

Your profile

You are a graduated PhD scientist with experience in the field of condensed matter research with an excellent scientific track record. Preferably, you are familiar with spin-resonance methods, instrumentation and data acquisition techniques, cryogenics and instrument control. You like to work in a team, to give support to and collaborate with guest scientists.
