Applications are invited for a post-doctoral position in the group of Prof. Kent in the Center for Quantum Phenomena in the Physics Department of New York University in a position sponsored by Spin-Transfer Technologies (www.spintransfer.com).
The research will focus on the study of magnetization switching by spin-transfer torques in nanometer scale magnetic tunnel junction devices. The research goal is to characterize, model, optimize and understand the ns-time scale switching characteristics of such devices. The successful candidate will use and further develop high-speed electrical test stands and an automated wafer prober. Experience with electronic transport measurements, magnetic materials, microwave techniques and magnetic device characterization is desirable. The candidate will work with a University/Industry team with expertise in the materials, measurement, nanofabrication and magnetic modeling. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Applications, including a curriculum vita with the names of three references, should be sent to Prof. Kent: firstname.lastname@example.org
