A Postdoctoral Fellowship, funded by the Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, is available in the Physics and Engineering of Nanodevices (PEND) group at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2), Barcelona, Spain. The post-doctoral Fellowship Programme (PROBIST) is led by the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (B.I.S.T.). Prof. Sergio O. Valenzuela, Leader of the PEND group, will supervise the Fellow. The research project will be focused on the growth, by Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE), and characterization of topological-insulator-based heterostructures to study quantum anomalous Hall effect and axion electrodynamics. The Fellowships are granted for 3 years including an annual gross salary of 36.000€ plus a single payment of 1.500€ relocation support (Spanish tax and social security deductions apply). The starting date is negotiable.

Candidates’ Profile

A PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Physics or a related field is required. The applicants must have experience in electronic-transport techniques and show motivation, independence, excellent disposition towards challenging research problems and a good level of the English language. Experience in MBE growth is mandatory; experience in micro/nanofabrication, x-ray diffraction (XRD), x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) will be valued.
